Born Into Brothels

1. Born Into Brothels was interesting to me but was not really too enjoyable. To enjoy it you would you would have to be a cold hearted person. It was sad seeing how miserable some kids lives are and just makes you think how lucky you are to have the life you have.

2. I learnt that photography is not easy to do and is harder then I thought also I learnt that many people like us in Canada take life for granted, we don’t look at our lives compared to people who would give anything for the life we have. One thing everybody should learn in life is to not take anything for granted and cherish every moment they have in happiness because alot of kids like the kids in the movie we watched don’t have much happiness in their lives.

3. I think the world needs to donate more thing to these kids, I think out of every pay cheque somebody gets there should be a donation tax even if it’s a little like even 3 or 4 percent of your cheque. This is because every kid deserves to have an equal life of happiness as of every other kid, it’s not like they did anything bad to deserve this. God wants everybody to equally share happiness and wealth.

4. I am willing to donate 5 percent of every cheque I will get in the future to kids in need.

6. A non-profit organization is NBA Cares. This is important to me because I am a fan of basketball and I like to play it, it makes me happy that people I look upto are helping donate to people in need.

7. I think we can make advertisements that will help persuade people to donate to charity.

Magazine Cover Questions

a. a) What qualities of your magazine cover make it effective? (eg. What makes it eye catching?, What about it promotes curiosity?, How is it visually pleasing?, What makes it easy to understand?)

The qualities of my magazine cover that make it effective are the colour co-ordination that in my opinion is very eye catching. Also the topic i’ve raised on the cover is one many are interested in. Gaming consoles are talked about all around the world and to do a magazine on this I think is a good idea and would make somebody a lot of money. If you were to look at my magazine cover you would already know what the magazine was going to be about its very self explanatory because there are pictures of two game consoles on the cover. People would be curious to see whats inside because I used CNN as a article on it and for some people they would be curious to know what CNN thinks.

b. b) What was the order of hierarchy you were trying to achieve for the elements on your magazine cover?

The first in my order of hiearchy was the colour co-ordination. If you colour is very eye catching then people will look at your magazine and actually read the articles on it. The second was my title, I wanted to have a good title so it would get the viewer/reader thinking. The last thing in my order of hierarchy was the topic which was gaming consoles. Many peple like gaming consoles and like to read about which is better, so I think this was a good topic to pick.

Class Task #3

  

1. What combination of tools did you use to isolate the fruit in “fruit_combo.jpg” and where in the image did you use which tool?

Answer: I used the magnetic wand and at the end I used the eraser for the finishing touches.

 2. Of the methods you used to isolate the fruit in the 3 pictures. Which method did you find most effective in this case?

Answer: I think the magnetic wand was the most effective and it was easy to use.

3. Experiment with the following: After you make a selection in the menu and go to      a) Select > Modify > Expand      b) Select > Modify > Contract      c) Select > Feather What do these do? Post a fourth image indicating that you know what feathering does.

a. Answer: With this selection the fruit bowl becomes bigger or smaller based upon the pixel size.

b. For this one its the same thing.

 c. For this selection it’s the same thing as the magnetic lasso tool.

Class Task # 4

1. The 300 dpi would be more clearer because there would be more detail in the picture and the more dots per inch the more clear if at 72 dpi then when printed out it would be way more blurry then 300 dpi.  

2. A picture with 1 dpi would be very blurred and hard to see because there would be less detail and only 1 dpi so it would be more blurred.
